These bowls are crafted from coloured, clear and dichroic art glass. The glass is cut to size, layered on a kiln shelf and fired to 800°C to fully fuse them together. The flat form is then placed onto a mould and fired again in the kiln up to 700°C until the glass just begins to soften and slumps into the desired shape. Gold or silver lustre paint is then fired on as required in a third firing.
Each piece is unique and captures a moment in time as the glass turns from solid to liquid and back to the solid state again.
